It’s so difficult to photograph the shininess of the metallic thread around the rim of this sweet little trinket basket. I used a few glycerin dyed needles (the darker red toned) and the rest natural needles that I cured for 6 weeks in my workshop closet to keep them light toned.
The center piece is ceramic from MakeaBasket on Etsy. I had purchased a few of these from Pamela when I first started using centers and before I started making my own. She has a real nack for making the cherubic faces that look so like the moon to me.
Someone had asked if I made fall colored baskets. Usually I have a few, but they’d all sold. With that in mind I pulled out my gold and bronze metallic cords and voilá! The beads were a last minute addition. I don’t recall what the bronze beads were made of, but the dark beads are garnet and I think they finished the basket off very nicely.
